Jubilee Leaders Covenant
We, the Leadership Team of Jubilee Worship Center, do hereby declare and affirm that we are called by God to be change agents in our families, among our friends and acquaintances, throughout our community and into the world at large.
We realize that the fields are “white unto harvest” and the harvest will not be reaped unless we, individually and collectively, work intentionally and effectively in the harvest fields. God has given us a vision of what He desires to accomplish through Jubilee, and we solemnly accept our responsibility for that vision.
Therefore, we pledge to God and to each other: To do life together as a Community that highly values Connections. To treat others with dignity and respect. To be loyal to each other, out leaders, and our common vision. We realize that every person is a part in the overall JWC story. Territorial attitudes and turf wars hinder growth.
Therefore, we choose:
1. To actively look for and respond to opportunities to love and care for each other and for those in the harvest field
2. To work together in singleness of mind and purpose,
3. To have infectious, positive attitude because optimism is contagious.
4. To measure all we are and all we do against the "yardstick" of the Vision God has give us,
5. To share our best thoughts and ideas at all times, whether they are popular with the group or not,
6. To anticipate conflict and to resolve it in a way that edifies all involved,
7. When decisions are made, to give our best efforts to make those decisions work,
8. To be a "raving fans" publicly and "honest critics" privately. I will send positive information downward and negative information upward.
9. To carefully guard our lips so that we never say or imply anything that would injure anyone in any way.
10. To recognize and honor authority and responsibility of our pastor as the spiritual head of our fellowship, and when necessary, to defer that authority and responsibility,
11. To never accept anything other than excellence from all involved in reaping the harvest,
12. To never give anything other than excellence in fulfilling our individual responsibilities to reap the harvest,
13. To never rest until, with God's help, we achieve the Vision God has given us for the future of Jubilee Worship Center.
14. To exhibit a "whatever it takes" attitude in all tasks I am asked to undertake.
We pledge to hold one another accountable for fulfilling these commitments, understanding that at any time, an individual may withdraw their role on the Leadership Team with the love and blessing of the remaining members.
Dr. Dale P. Combs-Lead Pastor
Bishop and Lead Pastor of Jubilee Worship Center Church of God for over 35 years.
Dr and Mrs. Dale and Lisa Combs were married May 26, 1979. Lisa serves as the Program Director and Worship Leader of Jubilee Worship Center.
Dr Combs was born November 27, 1959 in Great Yarmouth, England, the oldest of 5 boys while his father was stationed there serving the United States Air Force. His wife Lisa is a native of Northwest Indiana and has lived in this area most of her life.
Together Dr & Mrs Combs have two wonderful grown children, Dalisha (Josh) Carter and Dale (Shannon) Combs. They have six beautiful grandchildren, Micah, Gabrien, Ellanie, Zachary, Macie Rae and Cora Lynn.
Dr Combs comes from a long line of ministers dating back to his great grandfather, who was a traveling preacher in Kentucky when the Pentecostal movement began. His grandfather was a minister. His brother James, Dr Combs' great uncle, served as Pastor in West Indianapolis Indiana Church of God. At one time, his church was the largest Church of God in Indiana. Dr Combs also has an uncle who is a retired Church of God minister. Dr Combs' father served as a pastor in Michigan, New York, Indiana, Florida, and Arizona.
Dr. Combs has served on the Indiana Church of God State Council for 5 terms and is currently Chairman of the Council, the Indiana Board of Evangelism for 2 terms, and is presently serving as Director of Department of Ministerial Development for the State of Indiana, as well as the Home Health of St. Mary Medical Center Advisory Board. In addition to serving on various boards, Dr. Combs has served as board member for the Indiana Chapter of the International Conference of Police Chaplains, served as an FBI Chaplain for over 15 years, and is presently the Chaplain for the Hobart Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Department.
Dr. Combs received his Bachelor of Science in Religion with emphasis in leadership from Liberty University in Lynchburg VA. graduating Magna Cum Laude. He completed his Master of Arts in Religion with emphasis in Leadership from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and Graduate School in Lynchburg VA. graduating with Highest Distinction. Finally, Dr. Combs completed his Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with emphasis in Organizational Development at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix AZ. His dissertation titled, “The Emergence of Ordained Female Clergy in the Church of God From 1996 to 2006” is available through ProQuest Publishing.
Dr. Combs has published two articles for Engage Journal. A ministry journal for the Church of God (Cleveland Tennessee), and has co-authored the book “Witnessing Made Easy: Yes, You Can Make a Difference” (available through Amazon.com), and a Leadership Training Manual titled Characteristics of Leadership.
Dr. Combs’ research interests include organizational culture, workplace culture, church organizational culture, and Edger Schein’s three level models of organizational culture, sociopolitical issues related to women within profit and not for profit arenas, leadership issues related to faith-based organizations.
